Imagine my surprise when I saw a big bubble envelope with a New York postmark lying on my desk when I got home Tuesday night. In it, I found out, is the Anna Davis novel, The Shoe Queen.
Hmmm. Interesting.
I am a self-confessed stilleto shoe-addict, so, this book definitely peaked my interest.
The package came from a PR firm in New York and a publicist, Jessica Silvester, emailed me last week to inquire if I’d be interested to take a look at the book. After clarifying one important bit — my current location being the Philippines — she said she’ll be happy to send me a sample copy. I am now holding an unedited version of the novel. I’ll probably be publishing articles on my fashion blogs, Tops 2 Bottoms and Style Manila, as soon as I’m done reading and analysing. I’ll let you know when they’re up.
I’ve only managed to go through several chapters the past couple of days since I do have lots of catching up to do with all my problogging and copywriting responsibilities, but I’m already finding it a bit of a page-turner. It has certainly caught my attention and has got forming the why questions in my head and imagining the life of a shoe-addict back in the roaring 20s (reminds me of my recent style project) and in Paris, nonetheless! Believe me, this means I’m not bored.
I’ve resurrected my Amazon account and thought I’d plug the book. Hehe.
If you’re interested to get a copy, go on and get. I’d love to exchange thoughts with you.
What about the rest of you fashionistas and book-lovers out there? Have you guys read the book? Care to share any thoughts? I’d love to hear it.

Does this mean I won’t be able to bother you while you’re perusing the juicy parts?

oh, you know that you’ll always be able to distract me!
