I’m Listening to Kala

By The Parodist | May 18, 2007

Manila High by Kala Album CoverThe first time I ever heard a Kala song is way back in December 2005 (if I remember it correctly), just when I got back from my first trip to Australia, and it was their song, “Jeepney”. Twasn’t even on the radio where I heard it from, twas on TV — their music video. I immediately liked their pop/funk feel. It has that calming and feel good effect that makes me want to listen the song all day.

But guess what? It took me more than a year to actually get a copy. Got a free one at that! It’s all thanks to Yehey! when I went together with the BoB to their office in Ortigas, Tuesday night, to talk about their localised online payment solution, Kaban, and they gave us CDs on top of the Almon Marina dinner.

So, yea, I’ve been listening to Kala (follow the link to check out their KALAFUNK website!) for the past couple of days now and I’m not tired of them yet.

BTW, if you want to explore on your own or get to know them further, have a read and a listen — you can start here. Hehe. ;)

Rico: It’s with Jayvee right now but you can always borrow it when he returns it. ;) We don’t need to do a CD swap. Hehe.
