Girl Bloggers Do Rock!
By The Parodist | July 14, 2007
Google Country Consultant and blogger Aileen Apolo, who also happens to be a friend I met through blogging, considers me as a Rockin’ Girl Blogger. I consider it a huge compliment, sweetie. If I can give you a hug right now, I would. Consider it that I’m also giving you a badge.
I reckon this tag originated from somewhere but I really don’t want to get into that. I’d rather focus on who I believe merits this badge.
Shai Coggins
Dear me. Where do I even begin? She’s the VP for Community and co-founder of a kick-ass global blog network, b5media, for starters. She’s been at this whole blogging thing way back when a blog wasn’t even called a blog. She’s a mum with two gorgeous kids. And has an MA in Applied Psychology to boot. She’s even listed as one of the most powerful women online. She definitely rocks! Hands down.
Christina Jones
I’ve been working with or under CJ’s supervision for close to two years now and I’ve seen what she can do. She’s helped me and my fashion blog, Tops 2 Bottoms, grow under the network. She knows how to show her support when needed and I love her for it! Best Channel Editor I’ve ever had!
Liz Strauss
Liz is such a wonderful person. She’s very warm and accommodating. I’ve learned a lot from reading her blogs. And what I treasure most is our conversations. She made that connection feel personal, as if we’re truly friends even offline. She knows how to nourish bloggers that’s why she rocks in my book.
Gayla McCord
Gayla and I met (sort of) when I started visiting and participating over at Dating Dames, a blog that we now both write in. She’s awesome because she’s been through a lot but have learned to rise above it and be who she is now. I admire her passion for her advocacy. And she’s a mum of teenagers, nonetheless. I don’t know where she gets the energy but, dang, she rocks!
Melissa Atienza-Petri
Melissa, aka AnP, is one of the most prolific travel bloggers I know. Juggling a full-time job crunching numbers for a big Japanese firm in Germany (with added responsibilities when she came back from her maternity leave no less), business trips, two adorable kids, a number of travel blogs, an eZine and being one of the co-founders of the first Philippine blog network, The Bayanihan Blog Network, will be something that I’ll never understand how to do. Tell me, she rocks, yeah?
Gloria Gamat
A single mum living the rural life but still manages to blog full-time. Yes. She’s a blogger by profession. She keeps a number of science blogs across a number of blog networks. I still shake my head whenever I’m reminded of her situation (esp during the storm Milenyo). I’m awed by her resilience. She’s a rock that’s why she rocks!
Noemi Lardizabal-Dado
Noemi is such a sweet person. She’s warm and accommodating. I admire her quiet strength. Since the time when I first read about her story (before even meeting her in person), I knew I would appreciate the opportunity of meeting her. I have therefore I am. Reading her posts on her relationship with her daughters and from my own observation, I find her to be a very cool mum. Lucky Lauren. Noemi rocks the blogosphere cuz she’s a problogger and a netrepreneur. Groovy, eh?
Karen Cheng
I really don’t know Karen personally but I “know” her because I’ve been a fan since back in 2005. I love her blog. I happen to think she’s an awesome web designer. I sort of wish she still actively designing so I can see more of her works around but, hey, visiting her blog helps all the same. I love reading her posts. I esp love it when she features girl-y stuff — shopping! She inspired the photo editor in me.
Sophie Uy
One of the newest bloggers I got to meet in person. Sophie is the brains behind Beautynomics, a blog I’ve been visiting since early 2006. I love how she writes her posts about makeup and all things beauty makes them sound so intelligent and funny. From the onset, she’s been warm and friendly that you can’t help but love her! She’s now a blogging machine and very much an entrepreneur that’s why I think she rocks. Oh, the fact that she’s related to Sarabeth is a plus factor. Hehe.
Dexie Wharton
This feisty momma of two very cute kids is like a long lost sister. She definitely rocks and stylishly doing it! She’s real and very down-to-earth. She dabbles in web design, generates loads of content (she’s slowly turning into a blogging machine, I reckon, hehe) and she has even managed to drag her husband (who used to be in the army) to blog about music!
Now, ladies, it’s your turn. Who do you think should get this badge?

Aww… shucks. Thanks, sis! You should have a disclaimer that we’re related, though.

Sis: But I didn’t just say that cuz you’re my sister but yea, you definitely rock harder cuz you ARE my sister. Hehehe.

Wow isn’t it cool to be a rockin girl blogger. I am so flattered my dear. I try to be cool now and then especially to my daughters but the mommy in me fires up when my gut feeling says otherwise. Thank you for honoring me with this badge.

Wow! Sasha,
Liz
You are one of the first bloggers I met and one of the dearest to me. Our conversations don’t happen often enough, but I feel the same way about them as you do. I am determined that one day we will meet. Until then, you are indeed my friend online and off. You are awesome. You rock! I’m lucky to know you for even a second, and I feel like I’ve known you forever.

Ooohh I dubbed you the same pink badge in my list as well. Another sign of long lost sisterhood..hehe
I guess I forgot to let you know. Sorry. And Thanks.

Wow, thanks Sasha! Since this is a meme and I can’t point back, I just wanted to let you know that I think YOU Rock! You’re seeing places I can only dream of and you do such a wonderful job in sharing your adventures. And you happen to be the one woman online that my boys have the biggest crush on.

Noemi: I reckon that the mum-instinct is no myth, though, kids don’t understand it sometimes. I guess experience will teach them but I’d choose to have someone looking out for my best interest anytime. No worries! For the things that you do, you deserve the badge.
~ Sasha
Liz: It certainly feels awesome knowing that you feel that way, Liz. I’m deeply touched. I do look forward to meeting you (envying my sister that she already has). Thanks and I really am glad to have met you!
Gloria: Thanks, Glo! I hope you and Raine are doing alright!

Thanks for appreciating my minute contribution. As long as there are people like you who do, I’ll keep doing it! I wish the same for you. I hope your passion will never wane.
Dexie: No worries! I found it! Thanks for the “vote”. I appreciate it!
Gayla: LOL. I forgot about that! The idea is so adorable!

Waw, I wake up, and check my blogs-to-read like a morning newspaper, and I read this!
Thank you for considering me a “Rockin Girl Blogger!” . That made my day!
I think you rock, because I wonder how you can manage to multitask, and come up with great blogs!

Sophie: No worries! You really deserve it! And thanks for thinking the I rock, too. Hehe.
