Tips on Sports Photography, Anyone?

By The Parodist | September 24, 2007

MBSTek BasketballI still owe these guys the first batch of photos from one of their practice games but I still haven’t had the time to upload them. Sorry, guys. I’m done processing the photos and all but they’re currently stuck in my desktop’s hardrive and, unfortunately, I’m currently using an 17″ HP Pavilion dv9000 lappytop, which my brother brought home from his last business trip to the US.

However, to make up for the lack of posting, here are some photos I took during last Saturday’s Game 1. Ladies and gents, I present the MBSTek Boys in Red — now fondly dubbed as the Cinderella Team — versus the Green. Unfortunate loss but I believe they can turn things around come fortnight, their last chance to enter the finals.

Author’s disclaimer, this is not UAAP. Heehee.

(More photos after the fold.)

I reckon I need work on fine tuning the composition. I’m not entirely confident on the lighting (used standard flash). And I really think it’s time for me to buy a tripod. Heh.

I used the standard kit lens 18-55mm for the Canon EOS 400D, user-defined WB and was in TV mode.

With these things said, I’d appreciate your thoughts and be grateful for any tips. Seriously.

Oh, the complete set of photos can be found in my Flickr, set name is MBSTek Basketball.

For the MBSTek boys, feel free to ping me so I can properly label the photos. Quick shout out to Marc, Rico, Ely, Mikey, and TJ! Best of luck on the semis, er, it’s the semis, right? Meanwhile, hope you guys enjoy the photos!

Update: You can also check out the photos of the MBSTek After-Party.
