You would think I work for MBSTek with all the photos I have of and with these people. Heh. I guess a photographer cum glorified mascot for their sportsfest would best describe my presence. Oh, believe me, I tried out for “muse” but Sharmskee wins, hands down. Heehee.
I reckon since I mentioned our favourite Cinderalla Team when I asked for tips on Sports Photography, better that I update you on the good news —
It’s D Ball, baby!
Yes. The Red Diablos cinched the semis and are off to finals next month. As fate would have it, they’ll be facing the Green Team once again. Are we witnessing the birth of a rivalry?
Elegant. That’s one word I can use to describe the boys’ playing that night. And there’s heart. I saw that these boys really wanted to win. They kept their cool even when they lost three quarters in a row. Scoring was pretty close but they pulled away at the last quarter, winning the game. It was fantastic to see D players up their game! Congratulations, Diablos!
I am, of course, posting few of the photos I took during the game. Er, at least, when I wasn’t busy watching and cheering. Yea, I was actually guilty of a few catcalls targeted to that long-haired dude from the Yellow Team that probably didn’t bring his game on. Heh. Eeep. There I go again. Hehe.

Anyway, I’d like to thank Jun for his suggestion. I picked up a thing or two from reading that post you pointed out to me. Reason why I brought with me my EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens for this shoot. I loved the colours and the lighting of the place and opted not to use the flash (which explains some blurred shots — hands aren’t steady at times, gah). I was on user-defined WB and TV mode.
I’m quite happy that I ended up with a different set of photos. These photos look different from the last set, right?
Looking forward to shoot the next game (I heard that it’ll be at the same venue). I’ll bring my tripod and promise to take loads of photos.
I’ll leave you guys to check out the rest of the photos:
MBSTek Basketball
MBSTek After-Party
As for me, I need to sleep off my hang-over. Heh.

Yep, you really took maximum advantage of the better lighting of the venue.

No worries, Marc. I’m glad for the opportunity. I’m also glad you like the photos. I hope I’d be able to take loads of photos next time! So, can we expect the headband sa championship?

TJ: Yea! Go Diablos!
Riz: I just stretched the camera’s functions to work with the available light. I used the EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens like I said in the post. Flattered you found them impressive, thanks.
Floyd: Batangueño ka? Salamat po!
