When Your Momma Goes Back To School
By The Parodist | November 15, 2007
It can mean a whole lot of things. I can either be witnessing a historical moment wherein time is moving in reverse or there’s some bug in the air wherein people refuses to put age as a real obstacle to chasing their dreams. Whoever said you’re too old to do anything or even start doing something? My mum clearly is a great example that the will is stronger than the norm, proving that age is indeed just a number.
I watched her make reports. I witnessed how she’d study for written and practical exams. I learned of her high marks on said exams, too. I was half amused and half in awe. Twas surreal. I, sometimes, would want to pinch myself to see if it’s really happening. Ouch. Well, it’s all real, alright. Heh.
I even saw her with her prof and the rest of the class yesterday. She had asked if I could take their photo and, surprisingly, asked if I could post it on my blog. Yes! She requested me to post their photos! With my surprise at being asked, I couldn’t help but just agree to it. Dear me.

Her class, formal

Her class, a bit wacky

My mum & Ma’am Joy
It was Ma’am Joy’s birthday that day, hence, the balloons, party hats and the themed dress code. Heehee.
Which reminds me, the other day she had told me about a recent train of thought of hers, which involves studying and us her kids. She had wondered where (and when!) I’ll take my Masters since my sister took hers in Singapore and my older brother is currently taking his in the US. Talk about pressure. Heh. Well, she knows I’ve had plans to take my MBA but twas either a money issue or a time issue, which prevented it but mostly it’s the latter. I told her I’m fixing my schedule and, of course, saving up so I can do it next year. Still keeping my fingers crossed. Hehe.
Sigh.
I guess that’s what happens when your momma goes back to school, eh? She then would gently prod you to do the same thing. But, hey, I’m so proud of what she did. If she can do it, I can, too!

How. Very. Freaky.
First, she’s emailing. Then, she’s on Facebook. Now, she’s asking to be blogged. What’s next? Blogging/Podcasting/Vlogging Mommy?

AJ: Thanks! And I’m not surprised you found him so. I’ve heard my mum call him “gwapo” in some of her stories. Lol

Well, I’ve been telling her to start her own local entertainment blog so…
She’s taking baby steps.
Connie: Thanks, Connie!
Sis: LOL
