Thirty Wishes
By The Parodist | December 15, 2007
Three decades. I can’t believe how time flies. I’ve never really thought about my age whenever my birthday comes around but I reckon this time it’s different. We’re talking about turning 30! Egad. (Can’t believe I’m broadcasting how old I am, yeah?)
Somehow, it does make me think that age is indeed just a number. Doesn’t really matter if it’s a higher number or a lower one. What really counts is how you’ve aged. Know what I mean? I’d like to think we’re all like wine, we get better with age. Hehe.
I’ve only got one week left. Seven days. 175 hours to be exact (upon writing this post, at least). Have you noticed that I’m obsessing with numbers? LOL. With that I’d like to move on to the point of my post, I demand I get 30 wishes for my birthday since I’ll labour on putting out 30 candles. Heh.
Gadgets
I know I’m using an awesome lappytop right now but I’ve always wanted a (1) Macbook. If I’m giving up my flip phone, I’m switching to a smartphone with a QWERTY keypad like a (2) Treo 750. I want a new mp3 player an (3) iPod Touch or an (4) iPod Nano will do. Hehe. Of course, I haven’t forgotten my baby, I want a (5) Canon 580ex Flash.
Vanities
I’ve been meaning to buy my favourite scent, (6) Gucci Rush. My current frustration, finding a (7) Flat Tall Boot and a pair of (8) Oxford Shoes. Which reminds me, I want a pair of (9) Doc Martens or that (10) Mango Lace-Up Work Boot! Arrggh. I want to start wearing a (11) Watch again. I need a new pair of (12) specs and I don’t mind another pair of (13) sunnies, too. Mineral makeup! I want a (14) Zapper, (15) Illuminizer and (16) Gel liner. And, oh, (17) Cranberry Lipbalm and (18) Mascara, too.
Beach Monger and Travel
I’ve always wanted to spend my birthday on the beach, so, I wouldn’t mind taking a (19) Palawan Vacay or to go back to (20) Boracay or (21) Bohol! However, it always rains on my birthday so it’s not really a great idea. Still wishing for it, though. If I can’t go to the beach, perhaps a trip to (22) Batanes will work. Or go on a (23) Eurotrip! Woohoo!
Interesting Bits
I know I already got a Moleskine for a journal a while back, I still wishing for a smaller size (24) Moleskine for note-taking on the go. While we’re on the topic of writing, I’ve always dreamed of owning a (25) fountain pen. To satisfy the reader in me, I’m looking to get a copy of a couple of Jane Austen’s novels, (26) Emma and (27) Persuasion. Oh, make that three cuz I want a copy of (28) Mansfield Park, too.
Last two wishes
I’d love a (29) new car, please. Fine. I’ll keep dreaming. Heh.
And, finally, (30) World Peace. /curtsies Heehee.
I’m ready to blow the candles now!

Ron: Not bad. The front makes me think of Transformers, though. Perhaps Prime and his snout.

Mel: No worries. Just don’t forget to have fun and get
himwasted.Sis: Yes! Hehehe. You’ve managed to make the photographer (Flickr PRO!) and shoe-addict in me very, veewwwy happy. It doesn’t necessarily mean that I want them all, getting any one of them will do. And I KNEW one will say that this list is meant for Rico! ROFL. Poor guy. It’s a tall list for just one occasion.
