2007, A Memorable Year

By The Parodist | December 27, 2007

2007 Photo Mosaic

I can’t believe that another year has past. Soon we’ll be welcoming a brand new year! Either by principle or simply by common practice, we look back to the year that’s drawing to a close. It’s like we’re closing another chapter in our lives and, yea, like every good book (it’s your life, it should be good! heh), we scan through the passages that touched us most — seemingly trying to re-capture the emotion that was impressed upon us.

That’s why blogs are so awesome. We can actually go through our archives and browse through events in our lives. Ones we choose to chronicle, anyway.

January
The Parodist Unmasked — Er, Sort Of

My very first interview as a blogger, printed on Manila Bulletin. Very cool. Thanks to Annalyn!

February
My New Canon EOS 400D aka Digital Rebel XTi
Photo Day with Bloggers at the Balloon Fiesta

Inner photographer flourished. From no camera to a DSLR and a 400D no less. Of course, I readily went on a educational trip, shooting hot air balloons. Awesome! Markku was quite helpful!

March
The ‘Send’ Button
I’m now on Flickr Pro!
Recognizing the finest blogs in the Philippines

I quit my dayjob, a cause for celebration. I still wonder why a really short post became so popular. Gah. I so love the fact that I got Flickr Pro. Thanks to my sister! LOL. And, yea, played host during the Philippine Blog Awards.

April
The Parody takes on a RockinTheme!
A Look Into Network Blogging
The Beach Monger: Peninsula de Punta Fuego

I finally found the time to give this blog a makeover. I decided to answer the perennial questions of hows and whys in network blogging. And, yes! Amazing trip to Punta Fuego! Thanks to Rico (and his aunt, Marie Chua)!

May
BBN Launches Vista Pinas!
The Beach Monger: Bohol
The Traveler: A Taste of Vigan and Everything North

The Bayanihan Blog Network was soft-launched at the beginning of the year and Vista Pinas was a great new addition to the roster. And this month involved a lot of travels to places I’ve never been to before (except Cebu). I love traveling!

June
Band of Bloggers Now Official; First-ever Photo Published on Mobile Philippines
On Blogs as Marketing Tools
Beauty & Minerals Day!
Style Manila, the Fashion that’s rich in flavour

Twas awesome to see my photo and by line in print! LOL. I got quoted on an article published in Manila Bulletin. Fun event hosted by Sophie, whom I also just met on the same month. Lastly, BBN lauches their Manila Fashion Blog, Style Manila!

July
Losing More Than A Year’s Worth of Memories
Clique Booth. Made All the Difference. Definitely.
The Parodist Gets A Beauty Bento Box!
Two Days of Fashion, Styling and Blogging

A post that got featured in Moleskinerie. Fabulous time with Clique Booth, cam-whoring! LOL. I added ‘beauty blogger’ to the various blogger hats I’ve managed to amass. And my styling got featured on ABSCBN (yea, was on morning TV). How cool is that? Hehehe.

August
I Have Found My Cookie Haven
Blog Events, A Summary of Links — ish

This month marks the barrage of press events I started to attend as a blogger. I blame Jayvee. I kid! I kid!

September
Tips on Sports Photography, Anyone?

Slow month, dear me. But I’m still shooting. Yay!

October
D Ball Served Hot, Off to Finals
Halloween, Cemeteries and Domain Renewals

I particularly liked the photos I took of that basket ball game. Heehee. And twas my first time to renew my domain for this blog!

November

December
b5media PH Dinner and the Blogger Mixer
Pinoy Blogger Christmas Talent Night!
Free Beauty Loot at Beauty Bento Box
Thirty Wishes
My Birthday Cake
A Birthday Gift
Celebrating A Birthday

Oh, I just happen to love this month. A bit late in posting stuff but there were loads to blog about. b5media get together, alongside the whole coup-whatever, the Blogger Mixer! The second Christmas party for bloggers, which was cool. I gave away free beauty loot over at my beauty blog on my birthday. Lastly, my marathon posting about my 30th birthday. Gawd. I’m old. LOL.

One thing I am sad about is that I failed to blog more often. I’m tied up with my other blogging commitments that sometimes I overlook my personal blog. I wish all you guys can visit me in my other blogs but I know it’s too much to ask since I know your interests will hardly extend to Manila fashion, street fashion, Asian beauty, dating or even the Olympics. That’s where I am constantly. However, I will push myself to be here more often. I’d want to pull myself away from ‘work’ from time to time and I’ve always loved our conversations. Hehe. That’s one resolution down, I guess. Heh.

Anyway, I know there are a few more days left to this year. I just thought I’d take my trip down memory lane a bit early so I can focus on moving on. I want to welcome new things now! I reckon I’ll use the next few days to scheme plan the year 2008. Whachathink? Teehee.

So, how was your 2007? What sort of memories are you bringing with you into 2008?
