Gorillapod, First Steps
By The Parodist | May 22, 2008
Yesterday, I need to take some photos that I needed for a couple of posts I was working on. One is to show off some relatively *new* accessories that were popular during the 80s, the RayBan sunnies and glass bracelets. The other is to take a photo of my new hair, which is now rebonded.

What started off as a routine photography task, had turned into a fun little trial of my newly acquired Gorillapod — previously owned by my sister. (Thanks, sis!)

I already own a standard, serious-looking tripod. But it’s too heavy and bulky. That’s why I’ve been meaning to invest in a more handy and smaller one. Twas my luck when I found my dad’s old manual SLR — a Yashica — and a Topman tripod (complete with a leather zip case) when we were going through some old stuff. I had thought my prayers were answered since the old tripod was indeed compact (very handy) and in mint condition BUT my sister had asked if she could have it since she needs a good tripod herself. Though heartbroken, I agreed. But right before she left to go back to Oz, she offered her Gorillapod in exchange. I’m all smiles. Hehe.
Mr. X looks funny sporting this current set of legs. He looks like a robot that might start walking on its own anytime. Eerie but exciting at the same time. I’m really looking forward to more photo experiments with it.

The Gorillapod really looks like a grappling hook or something, and once people see the pics, they’ll agree with me!

Now you can take pictures of us more often! This tripod is definitely more portable than your big one!

Ah, so the ‘pod’s getting some use already. Good on ‘ya. Now I’ll be itching to buy myself a new one. I definitely loved that one.

I vote the first picture (in sepia?) to be your avatar from now on. Really, it looks awesome.

I think gorillapod is for sale in thinkgeek.com. By the way, there’s a problem with your blog when using internet explorer 6.0.
