Today I Am Thankful, Week 5

By The Parodist | August 4, 2008

Again, a day late but the important thing is that I’m not going to miss listing down what I was thankful for last week, yea?

I have to admit that I had to pause for a while to really think about what happened the past week in order to accomplish this list. I’m glad to have been reminded of them. I wouldn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to highlight even the small accomplishments. It’s in these situations that you’ll see His grace at work. They remind me that small things matter. They’re the building blocks of the bigger things to come.

Here are the 7 things that I’m thankful for this week:

1. Celebrating the first month. I’m a bit surprised that I was able to keep up with the frequency of posting on my photo-journal. I was able to post a full month and I can’t help but feel proud of myself! Now if only I can do the same here at The Parody. Hehe.

2. Online projects. There are a couple in the works. I’m still a bit backlogged in some but I can see things shaping up on two of the ones I’ve started. It’s a little hard to keep up with the tasks, esp the ones that require technical attention but I’m coping. It’s good to learn new things that allow you to do things on your own.

3. Photo opportunities. I’m finding more and more reasons to hold my camera and take photographs. Few of the newer photos were used recently on a couple of my blogs. I find that I’m enjoying taking product photos. I wonder just how much of it I can actually develop but so far I’m really proud of the photos I’ve taken.

4. Writing. Finding inspiration to write can be trying thing. Your personal writing muse is not readily available at all times but this week has me writing more than usual and I’m happy about it. It means more work gets done, with that means more money coming in — taking me closer to a big buy I’ve been planning on since last month! Yay!

5. Coupe Coffee Station. This place is draining my money, constantly luring me to get my daily dose of latte spike with Bailey’s but, hey, who am I to complain? I love the hours (!) I spend in the place. It has allowed me to have a space wherein I can write with ease, with focus. Seats aren’t comfortable and connection’s sometimes wonky but I’ve managed to get a lot of work done anyway so it’s all good!

6. New yaya! Yes. I’ve been on the hunt for a new one to replace the old one and she’s here! Brilliant. I’m glad to have an extra pair of hands to help out on the things I simply can’t be bothered with. It’s great to have someone do the things that I would sometimes forget to do because I’m too caught up with work. Of course, I’m happy that someone’s here to help my mum out.

7. A couple of pounds. This feels like a long-standing task on my to-do list. Gah. I’m still a long way away from accomplishing the goal but I’m happy to see that I’m finally gaining weight. A couple of pounds may not be impressive but knowing that I gained them makes the rest possible. I’ll get there soon and I’m thankful for the hope.

It’s great to find joy in the mundane. Good things come in small, steady bursts, causing me to come closer to the bigger and better things. Life is indeed filled with little things I should be thankful for.

So what about you guys? Are you expecting something big to happen in your life? What are the small things that come mind which you’re thankful for this week?
