Business & Oh-So-Pleasure!

By The Parodist | October 26, 2008

Great thing about going out with your best friend is that letting your hair down, figuratively, is no great nor terrifying task. You drop the unnecessary baggage of impressing the other person, or the incessant need to make them like you. The best friend already does — warts and all!

So the things I’d consider trivial like long hours on the road, going to the mall and dining out, and even talking about business stuff have become quite surprisingly more pleasant.

It was M’s idea to try out Pepper Lunch at Power Plant one Friday evening. It was her first time. Even for someone who has a RAV4 at her disposal, she hates driving outside her set perimeter. I guess finding herself spending a lot of time with me lately had caused her to break it more than usual (Ortigas to pick up the NARS Super Orgasm! LOL!)

We decided to splurge on two of the more expensive sets on the menu: the popular Shimofuri Pepper Steak for M..

Pepper Lunch: Shimofuri Pepper Steak

and I enjoyed the soft and tender Yawaraka Loin Steak.

Pepper Lunch: Yawaraka Loin Steak

I have to say mine was a surprisingly great choice. Though both look pretty much the same, I know. It’s just that the Yawaraka Loin meat is indeed much, much tender without losing the quality of taste. Regardless, these two sizzling hot steak plates will still go down the nom nom nom nom books fersher!

The trip to Pepper Lunch was supposedly a group thing but due to uncontrollable circumstances, people failed to make it. But there’s always a next time. Omasake is still on the list!

The night became one of our “dates” instead. LOL. So, a night filled with non-stop conversations while checking out the mall, which we don’t usually go to (we’re both Southerners and hate Makati traffic, pah). And lots and lots of window shopping AND, of course, shopping!

My haul from The Body Shop.

TBS Beauty Haul

Update: Blogged about it here — Latest Haul from The Body Shop

And a little something from Shu Uemura.

Shu Uemura: Shopped!

Keeping that one a secret as I have yet to blog about these beauty loots at Beauty Bento Box. I guess you need to stay tuned for that (if you’re really interested in that sort of thing, that is).

Update: My Own Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. Finally.

Capped the night with hot choco and venti soy latte for M and I, respectively, at Starbucks. We then decided to get down to business. But even then, things were still pleasurable. Perhaps having been friends for over a couple of decades has its exclusive perks.

Hands down, it’s one of the best days in my life so far. I reckon everything takes on a more vibrant shade if you’re with someone you know who’d appreciate it they way you would just because you’re friends. It reminded me of the many reasons why M and I have one of the best friendships I’ve ever had.

This is my way of saying thanks for a great day, M. I hope I can return the favour many times over.

What about you guys? Have you gone on a “date” with your best friend lately?

Grabe no, after almost 2 decades and loosing touch after high school, connecting and updating each other thru text or blog and just recently thru plurk, here we are… parang long lost love. *LOL*

‘Til our next date. We will definitely try Omakase before you leave for you know where ;)

P.S. (doh) I just realize, if ever, you’ll not be celebrating my big 3-0 with me/us. I was thinking of a booze party na lang instead of the Kiddie Party pa naman. :D bahala na si Batman ;)

So true! Before we only used to have that annual lunch/dinner on Independence day with the whole barkada then everyone started flying out of the country or busy with their careers and/or family. Gawd.

    OMAKASE!!!

Booze is good! Would love to party before I leave. Double time on getting me that date, ok? ;) ROFLOLOLOLOL.

ROFL. What are the chances I’d look like a viva hot babe? Wait, let me answer that, NEVER. I can work on the hotness part and I sure have the brains part but the rest of the Bs are sure out of the question! If that’s a prerequisite, I’ll have to pass. Men like that are not worth time and attention. Mine, at least. ;)

Glad to know you had a wonderful day with your bestie. Enjoy talaga iyan!

Haven’t had a real “date” with any of my best friends since I got pregnant. :D But I don’t mind. Someday I’ll have the time. For now, I just try to gather everyone when there’s an important event in my family life. *sigh*

Oh, I love Body Shop’s bath products!!!

Hi Connie! Does that mean I can also drag you into going on a TBS shopping spree? I hope you get to find the time and opportunity to go on a date with your best friend! :D

Sure, as long as TBS is on sale! LOL. I’m attending my high school class’ get-together this November. Hopefully, that would suffice as a “date”. Hee hee.
