Celebrating Wellness
Having been consumed by work and getting lost in the urban jungle of everyday life, taking time out to focus on your health and general well-being are such rare occurences for some people nowadays. Oftentimes, one can’t help but wonder if individuals even stop and ask themselves, “am I healthy?”
Driving down south, towards the direction of Tagaytay, spending an hour and a half on the road is well worth the time and effort esp if it means I’ll be spending a day celebrating wellness at Nurture Spa Villages.
Proudly Filipino, Nurture Spa is one of the pioneers in the spa industry in the country. They offer exquisite spa and wellness experiences. International standard services include massages, facials, scrubs, body wraps, hair treatments, spa packages, outdoor treatments, and in-room treatments that are inspired by Asian and Filipino healing traditions. They also offer overnight accommodations. Nurture Spa was created to provide its guests a blissful combination of healing and pampering at its best.
Three things on top of my list were de-stress, research, and photography.

De-stressing
The past few weeks have been pretty toxic on my end. Schedule’s crammed with things to do both online and off, plus basically tying up loose ends just in case my holiday travel plans does push through. Let’s just say I’m in dire need of a massage and when this opportunity presented itself, I didn’t loose any time in setting up an appointment.
Stepping out of the car that Friday morning, I had immediately felt a huge difference in my surroundings, which lifted my spirits. I reckon being around nature can do that to you.
Greeted with a smile and a cup of herbal tea allowed us to settle in comfortably, basking in the warmth of the welcome. Letting us know that we were expected and that everything is being prepared esp for us, created an impression of personalised service. Something that I definitely appreciate about the place.
Physiologically, one carries the burden of keeping him or herself fit and well. But we all know that we tend to stretch ourselves too thin and would often forget to take better care of ourselves. This is where a bit of pampering would do us good. This is why having massages or spa treatments are getting more and more popular. People are beginning to see that it’s not a mere luxury but is actually one of the ways to administer health and wellness that we really need.

Research
One of the main reasons for the visit was a review of the place and, of course, their services. Finding myself traipsing around the beautiful grounds of Nurture Spa, it’s almost possible to forget that I’m also there for work. Twas real easy to get lost in the relaxing atmosphere and give in to the feeling of rest. Had I not brought along a camera and a notebook, I would’ve.
Good thing that I had been to Nurture Spa before. The memory served as material which helped in the comparison to determine progress and such. This gave me a bit of freedom to enjoy the latest spa experience, sharing it with someone, and to discover new things about the place.
Photography
I always love photo-documenting my travels and somewhat unique experiences. I enjoy telling stories with the use of photographs. And the place didn’t fail me in that respect.
You can’t help but admire the promise of health and wellness that the place brings. Looking at all the photos I took, I’m still reminded of the experience. Perhaps it’s because I had enjoyed the spa treatment and the surroundings myself, hence, the memory still being fresh and vivid. But I reckon knowing that there’s a peaceful place up in Tagaytay where people can go to rest, relax, and recharge helps in keeping the feeling of lightness while looking at the photos.
It’s actually great to note that over the years, Nurture Spa has also gained the reputation as one of the prime choice for garden weddings, wedding anniversary celebrations, engagement and corporate functions. Can you imagine celebrating such occasions in a relaxing place? I imagine people will be effected with peace and tranquility; lifting their spirits!
This experience has caused me to be more aware of my health. And it strengthened my belief that celebrating wellness is not such an impractical thing to do rather it’s something that each of us should really think about. I can understand the pressures of everyday life that’s why I would strongly advocate the practice of a healthier lifestyle (quite ironic since I’m a smoker, LOL — ah, well, baby steps!). I can really say that an occasional spa treatment (the right sort and not the run-of-the-mill massages) will do wonders.
Thanks Mike and Cathy Turvill for inviting me up to Nurture Spa Tagaytay for a day of health and wellness. Much, much appreciated!
P.S. I’ll be updating this post as soon as I publish the reviews/features on the spa treatment and such. Stay tuned!
